Red Tailed hawk nesting
Fri, Feb 21, 2020 7:11 PM
Walked on Currier Drive in Orange again this afternoon and saw the Red Tailed hawk sitting on the nest -near top of tree at 211 Currier drive. There was another nest in an evergreen on Orange Center Rd last year, but that tree was cleared to build a new house there. I have seen a RT hawk sitting on top of the adjacent evergreen on several occasions.

Drove up to near the top of East Rock park to a small gravel parking lot before you get to the top. The White Trail (a closed off road), walking down the road beyond the power line clearing. Merlin picked up other birds as well that I couldn’t locate. Don McGregor Madison Sent from my iPhone

Pieces of the cones were raining down until they had nearly stripped the cones from the top of the tree (many other cones lower down were untouched, presumably empty?). That was a behavior I had never seen or expected to. Harold Moritz East Haddam

Actually the die top surfaces would be parallel as the minor diameter doesn't change. The depth of the groves would have to decrease at the end.

TWL: Details of Accident Quilieutte River Washington
Tue, Sep 4, 2001 1:28 AM
Anthony's character comments that after accidents most people die of embarrasment. What he did not get across is that they die of it because they made a mistake they tried to correct by themselves and then got themselves in even more trouble. And the Shock of the mistake and the embarrassment kills them.
