Am I missing something?

Wrote: May this thread die now please. Perhaps. But those that don’t learn and remember history are doomed to repeat it. There are long, long, discourses posted on stuff that I will never understand, use, or even care about. Then there is the PITA of top posting. For some reason this list is the absolute worst in this respect of any I’ve ever seen.

RE: TWL: Starter problems

A half dozen caps and diodes I would guess and, if you don't get it right they die pretty quick - so you gotta do it right. Nice place to put a manual by pass to start the engine if ignition switch or wiring die. Jim > > Most marine applications use a second solenoid to energize the starter > solenoid.

While I am at it... thanks for the words on Die Hard. My start group 31 died so I looked up the web site and picked a 650CCA Die Hard. The web site said "good for a 150 - 300 HP gas or diesel engine".

Double Crimp Ratchet Tool-how to use question
Sat, Dec 19, 2009 3:28 PM
When placing the terminal into the appropriate color-coded nest make sure the area to be crimped onto the exposed wire strands is opposit the colored dot and on the smooth arc side of the die. The opposite colored dot side of the die with the indent in each cavity is designed to put the second crimp in the insulation portion of the wire."
