As for lack of a lower station--you can always enclose the hard top "flying bridge"--heat would be easy to put up there with "waste engine" hot water. We cruised the PNW 6 months out of the year with a canvas enclosure on our Cal 46 and found it very pleasant.

Top left of H connected to AC in, top right to +V, bottom left and bottom right to ground, and center right to input pin. You can do it with 3 resistors. Replace the lower of the 2 resistor setup with a pair, one to ground and the other to +V.

For example, 1) If the antenna is on top of a pole but you actually want the true location of the base of the pole, you apply a spatial correction. 2) If the antenna is on top of your roof but you want the true time at a BNC jack in your lab, you apply a temporal correction.
