Subject: TWGL: trawler mast
My 36-foot trawler has a mast that extends approximately 22 feet above the
water. I am having a problem finding a marina with covered slips high enough
to accomodate my trawler (most are about 18' or less). My radar is mounted
at the top of the mast.
I'm sure others have had this problem and I would be interested to know what
you have done about it.
Thank you,
David McMickens

David,
I have a mast that is about 28' to top of antennae. With a hinge
located about 2' from base this allows folding to 14.5'---13.5' if I
also fold down radar mount. The mast is held up with four
stays-release of two allows quick and easy folding--works well--also
for doing Great Loop which requires a max. height of 15.5-16' above
water.
Good luck.
