Re: Cruise Report, free docks

We've heard that Southport, NC has a tiny free dock, but haven't tried it. Washington, NC has a lovely free dock for about 8 boats, with free electric, but it's 30 miles off the ICW up the Pamlico River. Oriental, NC has a nice small dock for 2-3 boats, usually crowded. That's all I can think of.

This is not going to be a particularly fast project, but any insights, wisdom, data og participation is most welcome. Poul-Henning PS: I want to stress that I am not going to compete with Corby: I won't fix or tune your 5065 for you.

pump outs
Sun, Oct 25, 2009 12:27 AM
Hi All, I think most of the time we encounter pump out fees of $5 or $10 at marinas. Along the Erie Canal last summer most city docks had coin operated do-it-yourself pump outs for $1-$2 or even free with a token from the local visitor center.

Also, there used to be a free dock at Bath and I don't remember paying anything at the Ocracoke Dock.
