Most birds do not survive the strikes, even birds who have some flight ability and seem to be okay can go on to die later. The most common cause of death is a fractured skull.

That drives the temperatures of all the parts up. MTBF on them is very “temperature of use” dependent. They fail for a range of reasons as the parts in them die of “hot old age”. Efratom had some pretty good data on MTBF vs temperature in the LPRO data sheets.

I top off here and then I top off in Nassau, 19 hour run at 8 KTS. Have done it over 20 times with a variation of 5 gallons. Probably current or wind. I took a good suggestion and started a gmail account where the website looks a lot like BellSouth's but gives you the ability to import addresses and to create address groups. Since that time, I have been working at getting better mobile connectivity starting with dumping Nextel (contract ended in November) and getting Verizon phones.
