PRS-10 input and output calibrations
Sun, Apr 22, 2012 11:49 AM
Fellow time-nuts, Anyone who has tried to calibrate the PPS input and PPS output interpolators of the PRS-10? The output calibration seems pretty easy to do, just a TIC to measure the PPS to 10 MHz and then sweep through the output delay values to cover a little more than the 400 ns range.

Re: [time-nuts] 10 MHz -> 16 MHz
Sun, Sep 30, 2018 5:32 PM
If you divide the 10 MHz by 5, then mix the resulting 2 MHz back with the 10, you'll get mostly 12 and 8 MHz. Double that result to get mostly 24 and 16 MHz, then filter the 16 MHz out with as fancy a filter as necessary. 16 MHz is a very common crystal frequency, so you could do that for filtering, or even make a ladder filter with a bunch of them.

TWL: RE: Twisting the heads off SS screws
Thu, Mar 11, 2004 4:07 AM
If the instrument was provided with a countersunk hole for a #6 screw it was not always possible to upsize to a #8 or #10. Quite often the #6 screw would twist off unless you drilled out the pilot hole oversize. In addition you had to countersink the edge of the pilot hole or the gel coat would chip.
