RE: Re: RE:Big Itchy Marina Rat

Perhaps they've seen their brothers die in one and are too smart to join them. For these guys you need a live trap. Again with apple for bait these things really work. The trouble with traditional and live traps is they have to be set all the time to ensure that a rat getting onto your vessel is captured before doing too much damage.

As long as the interface materials (mounting cement and die coat) are a bit elastic, you can get some pretty good thermo cycle performance out of the normal mismatches.

physical explanation of the tilt effect?
Sun, Sep 19, 2010 9:52 AM
The LTZ1000A is assembled with a thermally insulating die attach (ie epoxy to glue the die to the leadframe). What all of us is missing is the correct physical explanation, including my assumption, which is derived from the long time constant of the change only.

There is certainly a risk it might die, but for an out of range bird with winter coming, that would be true even if it were not injured.  Close to half the birds currently in CT will die in the next year - that is normal (and would be the case even if humans were not around).

I have floated it in front of a few eyeballs, with hopes of these early supporters helping to portage this boat of my dreams’ making. The idea is another book, but not one which I write. A book about the place we live in, by those living here. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months!
