Re: [time-nuts] GPS antenna length correction

Re: Advanced beveling...

There was /is a script on thingiverse for bevelling, top and/or bottom edges. (It works by successive offsets) I would use that, tilt the object so the top is level, bevel that, then bevel the bottom. The recess for the screw heads? I'd use a cone and hand position/difference, and generally manually fiddle with that.

Re: [time-nuts] Trimble Thunderbolt no longer determines the correct date

The easy fix would be for them to upgrade their firmware and send out a patch. Probably cheaper than supplying new receivers from Trimble. I don't know; for us, a s/w fix is easy compared to a h/w fix or a h/w swap-out.

GPS Antenna Feed Line Decision
Sat, Sep 2, 2017 6:57 PM
Going to use a TM LMR stock, just can't decide how big to go with it... 26 dB 5vdc antenna on top of a 38 foot mast.  Feed will come down the inside/center of mast and exit near the bottom, thence routed through a window and to the GPS distro amp. Antenna will feed GPSDO, NTP Server, Blitzortung System Blue station, and one other device TBD.

I treat the boat the same as if it was dry stored, do all the same things. Also close all seacocks. I added fittings above my seacocks for the heads so I can pump the pink stuff through the entire system. I usually blow out my pottable water system with air. I connect at the stern where the dock water hooks up.

Re: [OpenSCAD] A component abstraction with both positive and negative volume?
Wed, Feb 15, 2017 12:03 AM
Hi Viktor, As fred said, you generally have to separate the additive elements from the subtractive ones, so that at the top-level you're basically differencing the union of all of the additive items from the union of all of the subtractive ones. You can't always do the differencing at a lower level and get the desired result, as you've observed.

Just the ones with the flared bows, like the one mentioned, a 53 MY, I think.
