Re: [time-nuts] Swagelok and metric tubing question

Stainless is very tenacious stuff, and as a result, when it is drawn through a die when sizing it as tubing, it gets axial ridges formed by galling, and damage to the dies.

It is not at all uncommon for them to fill up with dust, overheat, and die. Popping them open every 10 years or so to clean them out is well worth the effort. Selling Time and Frequency Equipment Or "just saying"
Sat, Feb 24, 2018 10:14 PM
The tube will die, just don't know when. (probably at the most inconvenient time!), and lets not ask what a replacement tube costs! There is no perceptible wear mechanisms in play for the 5065A (I have seen exactly one failed lamp in many years of working on them) Many of the first 1968 series built will still perform to specs today. So, Just saying!

The common cold survives the longest, as much as 7 days, but most die within 24 hours. Hard surfaces (like your equipment) support the longest life. Viruses don't form spores (Anthrax (Bacillus anthracis) is a bacteria, as is Botulism( Clostridium botulinum)) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/6282993 J Infect Dis. 1982 Jul;146(1):47-51.

Views are to "die for" as the teal was only about 10-12 feet from shore, apparently and amazingly oblivious to presence of passersby and dogwalkers. _______________________________________________ This list is provided by the Connecticut Ornithological Association (COA) for the discussion of birds and birding in Connecticut.
