For anyone considering coming for the Common Teal, Arch Street is one-way only, south to north between Wesskum Wood Road and Sound Beach Avenue. Best approachis to go south on Sound Beach Ave., then turn right onto Wesskum Wood Road. At the4-way intersection by the tennis courts, turn right onto Arch Street, parking on right sideof road. This is only a few yards from the open (unfrozen) water where the teal was seen. Meredith SampsonOld Greenwich

From Meredith Sampson:2/06/13 - Old Greenwich, Binney Park -- male COMMON (EURASIAN) TEAL seen and photographed at about 1:00. Seen again at 5:30 w/ Cynthia Ehlinger. Parking allowed only on Arch Street which runs along the backside of the park. Teal was near stone bridge where a small group of Mallards hang out. Views are to "die for" as the teal was only about 10-12 feet from shore, apparently and amazingly oblivious to presence of passersby and dogwalkers.
This list is provided by the Connecticut Ornithological Association (COA) for the discussion of birds and birding in Connecticut.
