Re: TWL: Holding Tank Regs - PNW

I don't know what Canadian waters you've been sailing in, but around here recreational boaters must have holding tanks, Y-valves are illegal and all marinas have pumpout stations.

But even there the diminutive version of kell would be kellette (we all know that "la kell" is feminine, eh?) Georges en Scaramouche, lac d'ontario.... Ps: Seriously, a kellet is a heavy weight that you slide down your anchor line to within a few feet of the anchor.

I have an old Furuno 4Kw radar, and I figured that I could install it on my car and thereby jam all of the po-lice radars in a 32 mile radius! Sadly in Canada you need to license your radar so I was out of luck. :-/ Scott Welch FirstClass Product Manager www.firstclass.com Those who make no mistakes rarely make anything.

On-Demand Propane Hot Water Heaters
Fri, Dec 9, 2005 4:01 PM
Of course the other side of the coin is that the heat exchanger HW tanks use nothing when underway, or for that matter when running the generator to charge at anchor. I find my 12 gal hot water tank stays warm even overnight after a days running. Ron Barr Lady Brookhaven Hatteras LRC 42 Presently lying RI Yacht Club, Narragansett Bay, RI KB1LFX

It might be an opportunity for would be boaters with a few coins jingling in their pocket to pick up a bargain. The problem is worst in the south east and in the north west. As the article said, "Boats are luxury items and today few people can afford the luxury." Larry Z

Cesium tube details

Dave, Maybe so, however I went out to the junk pile and pulled all the ovens (a wide range of vintage from early 5060A to later 5061A/B and various FTS). There were 35 of them and they all have the electrode on the top (or side for the FTS) for burning open the burst diaphragm.

Re: [time-nuts] FTS-4040A cesium, and STEL-1173 NCO chip

Mine were all stuck low. The STEL chip, its DAC, and related filters and amplifiers are all just under the top cover of the unit, on the far right of the PCB as seen from the front. Units with serial numbers lower than 2000 apparently used a different frequency synth scheme that does not include an STEL chip. Cheers! --Stu
