That I am not prepare a conclusive answer to all bridges. All the bridges I deal with are, ICW, city, county, and Federal, which the Feds replaced with 65 clearance fixed span. I thick the term they used is navigable waters.

The US cast iron radiators all use tapered pipe thread, fin coil is almost always soldered copper, and the steel radiators from Sweden/Denmark/Norway/Switzerland, and Italy, all have straight pipe thread, and use a Jamb nut with an O-ring. Runtal, Cordivari, Wirsbro and Wesaunard are examples I have run into.

TWL: Safe small electric heaters
Tue, Dec 5, 2000 3:21 AM
Since the entire wattage is distributed over an area of about two feet, the heaters don't ever get hot, just comfortably warm and I have no hesitation to leave them plugged in under my beds all winter long.

Re: T&T: Hella fans

If you want hi/lo speeds, it's trivial to wire up an inline resistor, and if you really want to go all-out you can use a wire-wound potentiometer and get variable speed. I've also mounted smaller (3") fans in standard ventilators, so that they blow air out of the boat. They move about 50 times more air than the wimpy fans that are normally in there.

Just for fun, I compared the cost of fuel to the cost of maintaining my boat for the past 5 years (I track all of my expenses in Quicken, so it's pretty easy). Fuel costs were roughly 5% of overall expenses.
