Re: [CT Birds] [NOSbird] Purple gallinule

Even if that were not the case I think that in all but exceptional circumstances it is better to let nature take its course however sad that may seem (note that it is normal for most young birds to die in their first year). That said I'm probably just a cold hearted cynic (ok, the " probably" is misleading).

Re: T&T: birds and bird droppings on bimini top
Sat, Jan 30, 2010 3:53 PM
One guy had pretty good luck with a large balloon that looked like an eye hanging down almost on top of his bimini. I also saw a fake bird that flapped it's wings in the wind. It seemed to work. While trying owls, snakes, etc I got pretty good at casting a fishing weight over the beams and then running a nylon cord up over the beam.

More importantly, any recommendations for a top flight marine surveyor for both engines and hull would be of great assistance. We are looking forward to getting plugged in once again to discussions about boating and boaters...all in all our favorite subjects!

Re: TWL: Not For Teak Freaks

I did the outside teak (including some steps) on my boat three years ago with Armada and give it a light refresh coat every fall (the boat stays out all winter). I inspected it today and the teak looks like it was treated yesterday. Ciao - George of Scaramouche in Lake Ontario, Canada
