Re: [PUP] PUP - Cost of cruising, was top 5 boats

All for peanuts. We self insure except for liability which we carry at about $1300/yr. Health Insurance is difficult to get for over 65'ers. Most US policies don't cover oldtimers offshore. OTOH, the cost of medical services from the British Virgin Islands south to Venezuela is far cheaper than the US. Venezuela is the cheapest and also top notch.

Guestimating that more than 20°C of heating should not be done to keep the whole thing in a easy to handle range. Then we would have a maximum pulling range of +/-230ppm, which means +/-10um precission on a 10cm diameter. This is still a very thight tollerance. Not impossible, but not that easy either.

But, the other side of the coin is: if you'll be running the genny enough for other purposes then minimizing cooking power consumption may not be important, especially you cook frequently and it's a priority for you.

Re: TWL: Generator problem

It didn't just die.....it went through a somewhat slow death period as I did all of my diagnostics thinking I had solved the problem only to have it die again. While bleeding the engine, I noticed I couldn't bleed it because the pump was not pumping and I had stumbled upon the problem. Changed it and have not had a problem since. Good luck.

Each needs a different sized "F" connector, and crimping die. Fortunately the Ideal crimping die has all three sizes. -Chuck Harris F. W. Bray wrote: > For those of us in the U.S., does anyone have suggestions of vendors or brands of > quality connectors and installation tools?
