Re: T&T: Balmar alternators
Mon, Jul 6, 2009 2:46 PM
Thanks For what it's worth, I had to decide between Balmar and Ample Power for both my alternators and regulators. I ended up choosing Ample Power. I had to retu rn one of the alternators, and when that was returned to me it was damaged in shipping. They replaced it no questions asked -- and it was an $1800 alternat or. So, I'd recommend them highly.

But I can't seem to pull it off. No matter how I try, I'm still left with a bunch of dislocated episodes and images, snapshots of the wonderful life along the wobbly docks and hauled boats of our marina. Don't know where you are lccated, but your stories remind me very much of the place I live in - up here on Lake Ontario, Canada.

. ;-} Oops I knew I forgot something. Winterized my Farymann today, drained all it's blood and replaced it with that green embalming fluid. What I forgot was to do the antifreeze thing to my watertank.

I looked this up a while ago (I put a train horn on my boat and it's not compliant). See http://www.stormy.ca/marine/colregs/annex3.htm Scott Welch FirstClass Product Manager www.firstclass.com Those who make no mistakes rarely make anything.

Today, more than 20 years later, I still have one section that I use as an emergency bed. The foam shows no sign of sagging, but the cover is totally shot. If anybody would sell that stuff, I'd buy a new set in a New York Minute both for boat and house. Ciao- George of Scaramouche

Ralph, I think the distinction is that Northstar and Simrad are offering more bells and whistles than Navico and Lowrance. DHS Duluth On Wed, 27 May 2009 14:58:29 -0400 "Ralph Yost" writes: > > "Navico, Lowrance, Northstar, and Simrad" > Are now all the same company....different labels.
