An article today in Sounding Trade Only Today (http://tinyurl.com/5mvls5)
talked about Mack Boring doubling the size of their training facilities.
For those who are not familiar with Mack Boring, they are the east coast
distributor for Yanmar diesel engines. In addition, they run a commercial
mechanic training school geared to turn out diesel mechanics for the truck
and bus industry.
This training operation also runs one, two and three day courses for owners
of diesel powered recreational boats. These courses are given in Union NJ,
Middleboro MA, Wauconda IL and Wilmington NC. A description of the three
courses can be found at http://tinyurl.com/6nw3ks, and the schedule and fees
can be found from links on that page.
For those owners who are looking to learn a little more about what makes
their diesels run, what types of maintenance a owner can do, and how to do
basic diesel troubleshooting, these are very interesting and fun courses.

No connection to Mack Boring - other than being a satisfied customer.
Recently I purchased a new VHF that has a built in hailer and fog horn. It has
adjustable frequency of 200-850HZ for the fog horn. My question is where can I
find the correct frequency for my boat? I have looked in the manual and online
with no luck. Thanks!!

Good question. I looked this up a while ago (I put a train horn on my boat
and it's not compliant). See
