Galley advice

Bill, our boat came equipt with a cook top with 4-burners. It also had a convection microwave oven uner the cooktop. Pat hated that setup. She was Ok with the cooktop, but didn't like the convection microwave at all. She wanted a "real" oven.

The convex part base was easy, the concave base was not at all. The chamfer was pretty easy. Most of these were motivated not by performance, but by ease of understanding by me. I’m now in the process of making the parts attachable and setting up the custom anchors. You should see an enhancement request in BOSL2 soon.

Re: TWL: Crimping #8 insulated terminals
Mon, Aug 18, 2003 3:48 AM
I bought a proper die crimper from my local commercial electric supplier. It has a set of rotating dies which allow for crimping #8 through 4/0 non-insulated lugs. It is a large tool with handles about 24" long, but crimping 4/0 connectors is pretty easy, and #8 don't even take any effort.

Good ideas never die. I personally do my electric boating in a Grumman canoe with a Minnkota trolling motor. As you say, it is dead quiet. Larry Z

I feel those two types of backup are really needed, especially having one that's easy and very fast to do. Gerry
