Chester, 1/26 - sapsucker, bluebirds, red-tails, and bald eagle
Sat, Jan 26, 2013 7:33 PM
Chester, 1/26 - A fruitful day in the neighborhood! A YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER visited our suet feeder this morning. While out walking, I heard/saw 8-10 BLUEBIRDS in one small wooded area, chattering over territories. Back home, a pair of RED-TAILED HAWKS put on a beautiful flyover show, just above the treetops, calling the whole time.

8/26 LIS and 8/27 Willard's Island

Hi all, Yesterday (Sat 8/26) I birded Long Island Sound by boat from about 10am to 5pm. I traveled from New Haven Harbor to Goose Island (Guilford) to the "ferry lanes" in the eastern Sound, then northwest to Black Point and worked the coast back to New Haven.
