New Vulture Roost
Sat, Oct 27, 2012 3:04 AM
10/26 - New Milford - new (to me) vulture roost - 50-60 assorted - light was too poor to do a decent count but mostly Turkey with a lot of Blacks in a tall leafless tree plus a couple of tall spruces at the top of Aspetuck Avenue off the top of the Green. The birds flying around were all Black Vultures. Canterbury students beware! Angela Dimmitt

Re: [time-nuts] Cheap 5370A on eBay

The parts are pretty common, so it’s a fairly easy fix. 3) Alignment. This takes a while, but these beasts do drift. No I’m not suggesting that you buy every single 5370 based on it being an “easy fix”. I would indeed check 1 and 2 above on any 5370 that comes in.

Joint between Flybridge and Cabin Top Does it need caulking?
Mon, Jan 14, 2008 5:10 PM
On a Marine Trader 36 sundeck model, the flybridge rests on the cabin top. The joint is concealed behind teak molding strips about 2" wide. Is there supposed to be caulking in the joint between the flybridge and the cabin top? I don't see any purpose for it but ??? Bob Siegel Annapolis

All I have to do is figure out which square pin goes to which tube pin - easy since it's wide open.

Lap Top Experience? Our Toshiba is off for repairs, plus is normally used for many applications, which could conflict with nav programs, so.....looking for a stand alone nav lap top......... Would like daylight viewable, modest weather proof and ruggedness (Ithink?).......

Draining a Racor
Mon, Mar 6, 2006 4:06 PM
I can still get the filters out the top (I did remember to plan for that!!!) and now have room to get a can in underneath for easy draining. I removed the original brass drains and replaced them with plastic twist type wheeels from RACOR. Very easy to control and easy working.
