Draining a Racor

I, too, found it difficult to drain my RAC ORS because were too low...so I
raised them about four inches. Took a while but not a complicated job. I can
still get the filters out the top (I did remember to plan for that!!!) and now
have room to get a can in underneath for easy draining.

I removed the original brass drains and replaced them with plastic twist type
wheeels from RACOR. Very easy to control and easy working.

When changing filters, I never bother trying to remove all the fuel...I just
open the drain valve until water and muck stops flowing. Usually a tablespoon
or so of water...I've often thought of flushing the bowl by adding some clean
fuel after the old filter is removed but haven't tried it...

Note to self: After seven years it's time to remove the bowls and clean them
completely...
