Re: T&T: The twin/single engine answer
Wed, Dec 10, 2008 8:27 PM
I am told a single with a bow thruster is theoretically as easy to maneuver as a twin, but best I can tell, maneuvering with twins and a thruster is the optimal option. That is what we have our eye on. So let the twins/single debate recommence. http://thirdpartyoffers.juno.com/TGL2141/fc/PnY6rw2PBHH5Z6e6ZF3bOyp7cjH3q6hs 33e64doBG6IgDSi8cMw3b/

Re: T&T: free docks/walls as an economic engine
Sat, Feb 27, 2010 4:01 PM
We always stopped for a night at the free dock and spent a good amount of money in a local restaurant and many of the shops at Barefoot Landing. No more. Cocoa Beach, FL. We would stop at the free dock and walk into town to a restaurant, library, hardware store,... No more free dock, no more stopping. Venice FL.

Re: [time-nuts] Thermistor on OCXO
Wed, Oct 17, 2012 10:47 PM
As I explained in my 1997 FCS paper on zero gradient ovens, the gradient is the main thing limiting thermal gain. If you have a serious gradient problem, then locating the thermistor far away from the crystal (probably much farther away than the internal one) isn't likely to be productive.

Re: Replicas out of band in OFDM signal (N210+CBX)

I'm using a N210+CBX to transmit a 10 MSPS OFDM signal, with Fc = 1.5 GHz. When transmitting, I can see some kind of "replicas" at +-7.5 MHz from Fc, always with a 40 dBc difference.

TWL: Re: Free fall winches

Our free fall winch works just fine on Ancora. Takes some practise keeping enough tension on the winch to lower the anchor slowly to the bottom. Ralph Salerno M/V ANCORA

Not a 419A expert by any means, but I happen to have 3 I picked up at parts prices and am repairing the newest of them. The oldest has a oval 3 pin AC connector. A newer one has a standard IEC socket. Both of these have 3 battery packs made of some form of coin cell, NiCd, 225ma, 5 to a stack.

Re: T&T: New thread? Fuel prices and effect it will have

I was told that only old f**ts would want a single engine trawler like I have and that they (the OF's) are being conservative with the money they have left after the recent stock market. On the other side of the coin, those with money are younger and time is still money to them so they want a boat that goes faster. I am out of luck both ways.
