brate the main clock that drives the cycle count register. Most PCs crystals are off far enough to be annoying, so one of the main things that ntpd does is reach into the kernel via a side door to tell the kernel the correction for the clock frequency. ntpd calls that drift. It's in log files and/or stored in a file so it can be used on reboot. ntpd can be good enough that you can use the drift as a thermometer. Things get interesting when you want to change the clock frequency to save power. I think some of the early cycle-counter implementations counted actual CPU cycles. I think modern chips count at a fixed rate that may not be the same as the CPU clock frequency. If you want to save more power, you can turn off the CPU clock. Laptops do this when you close the lid. Phones do it on a much finer grain. Then you have to set the clock when you turn the CPU clock back on. I'm not sure of the details in this area. Most systems have a battery backed clock running off a 32 KHz crystal. Typically, they can only be read to a granularity of 1 second. And they aren't drift-corrected, ... -- These are my opinions. how to use the img file posted on the website to upgrade my E310 ?
Fri, Sep 30, 2016 12:54 PM
Dear All, Sorry to bother you. I'm new to the USRP field. Currently, I have 2 USRP E310 of which the P/N are 156333C-01L. According to the readme file, I downloaded the img files in the "ettus-e3xx-sg1" folder. But it doesn't work after I burn the img to my new SD card.

[TWGL] Trip to Chicago
Wed, Nov 28, 2001 2:53 PM
The New York Canal System does not open until early May, but that date can slide if waters are high and all the locks can't be opened. On top of that, it is still cold at that time of year. If possible, I would reschedule for June. Can the trip be made in one month. Yes, but you will really have to push. ^From Annapolis to the Erie Canal, 7 days.

So, all I have to do is: - main.scad: include translate([X, Y, Z]) { shpere(); } - vars.scad: X = 1; Y = 2; Z = 3; My python script just have to generate the vars.scad file, with all my maths results, and that's it!

Re: [time-nuts] Measuring TV delays
Thu, Jan 2, 2014 4:53 PM
They mux all the channels together. All of this is transmitted as packets. Each channel has a PID assigned in the header of the packet. Your TV or set top box decodes the packets and displays the ones for the channel that you have selected. The decode and encode time at the cable plant is part of this.
