Power and heat re: Heathkit WWV clock / where are the good oscillators?
Sat, Aug 6, 2022 8:34 PM
I'd like to have less than 0.1 sec/day between syncs – syncing isn't possible at all hours, and GPS won't work for my application. So a 3 sec/month clock on its own.

The compressors are all fairly standard and all you need to do is find one that has about the same rating as the one you now have. Physical size and placement of ports is only important inasmuch as you need to get the new piece into the same space and plumb it up by brazing. We had to reroute a couple of pipes, but that was easy too.

The MMIC VCO is just a die (or a die in a package) and > it's > pretty much immune to external effects, since the resonator is built into > the oscillator. > > We built some prototypes at JPL using the VCO and a GaAs divider, and the > performance was better than DROs. > > If you were building a very narrow band PLL, where tunability of the DRO > isn't needed

It just means that the rejected legitimate post would be routed to some human to be checked before being posted -- maybe it gets delayed a few hours is all. This problem is recurrent, known to be an easy place for human error to occur, and the solution doesn't seem like rocket science....

Re: [OpenSCAD] what do we need to do to speed up F6?
Thu, Jul 2, 2015 9:23 PM
Get rid of implicit unions wherever feasible, and especially at >> the top level. This means that the final result of F6 may be a model with >> overlapping top level polyhedra. This will provide a massive speedup for >> models that work by overlapping a large number of top level objects, >> especially spheres.
