Re: [volt-nuts] Fluke 735C - Information Needed
Tue, Sep 10, 2013 2:13 PM
I have seen SLA's (in UPS's) 'shrivel' and get very hot as they die. I'll have to take a look at the 732A manual to see what it's battery construction looks like.

If you utter an undefined variable name in any other expression context, you get an error; when you give one to *this specific function* you don't. > > Nobody will die, but every such magic case that you add makes the language harder to understand. > > --- > > Let's look at other languages for a moment.

TWL: Mac Navigation Software
Thu, Mar 13, 2003 2:16 PM
My wife has, for various software related reasons, a Microsloth Windoze machine which crashes more than all the others combined. When I get a Powerbook for navigation, I will also be running all the other software I use and won't be concerned about routine crashes. Rick Quarles Barric II, Nordic Tug 32-147 New Bern, NC

All chain rode scope question
Wed, Aug 30, 2006 2:52 AM
I have personally dove on an all rode chain in winds above hurricane force and can confirm that the chain was bar tight, and sighting it, (clear water in the tropics) there was absolutely no sag. The Kelet would make no difference in hurricane force winds. Tanden anchors might--But do it right.

My all species hummer feeder
Wed, Jul 20, 2016 6:18 PM
The downy in particular stands on the feeder and drinks almost all day. I did put up a second feeder but its mate found it...then it was destroyed by a bear. Now a new threat to the hummers. A young squirrel has discovered that if he stands on it just right so it tilts a little, he can lap up the sweetness.

American Avocets all around us!
Thu, Jul 21, 2016 1:33 AM
It's early in the season, so all of them were still in full breeding plumage. Real beauties! We didn't have any here in CT last year, so we're due. Congratulations to whoever is the first birder to find one in our state this year! Good birding, Chris Loscalzo, Woodbridge
