I heard (wrongly I hope) that MaxSea has decided to no longer support

MAC,

specifically OS X. Does anyone know of nav software optimized for OS

X? Will

MaxSea continue to work on Classic?

Go to their website!  ( http://www.maxsea.com/ )
I am currently considering a 17" Powerbook to use for, among other
things, navigation.  I went to the MaxSea website a couple of months ago
and they did indicate that one of their programs, either Navigator or
Yachting, was compatible with Mac OS9 (and earlier).  I sent an email
asking about an OS-X version and received no reply.  Their website
currently has no mention of Mac compatibility.

My Mac user status goes back even farther: Apple IIe, Apple IIC,
Apple IIGS, then Mac SE, Mac IIcx, Mac IIci, Mac Duo 230, Powermac G3
and Powermac G4, along with IIcx's and IIci's at work (DuPont).  My wife
has, for various software related reasons, a Microsloth Windoze machine
which crashes more than all the others combined.

When I get a Powerbook for navigation, I will also be running all the
other software I use and won't be concerned about routine crashes.
