Broadband air cards

Has anyone done the loop with one of the cheaper plans like T-Mobile? cheap isn't any good if it doesn't work as needed. But expensive isn't necessarily best either. I'd like to hear from recent east coast cruisers with T-mobile or other inexpensive data plan users. I just got a quote for my Verizon Treo of $75/month for a data plan plus tethering.

ADAGIO President 41 For Sale

ADAGIO is soon to complete her Great Loop adventure in Mobile. She has served us well, is fully equipped and turn-key ready to go again. If you're looking for a nice boat under $100k you probably could not find one nicer. Mobile in November or later is also a great place to start the loop. Winter in the Keys or Bahamas she is ready for you.

TWL: Velvet Drive Transmission Oil

I agree with Ian Munro -- I was using Dextron III in my Velvet Drive transmission; however, after reading other TWL posts and the advice of others that have similar boats in the Pacific Northwest I changed to Mobil Synthetic ATF last year. The added cost of Mobil Synthetic ATF is a good investment.

TWL: RE: cell phones and e mail

The mobile office connectivity kit provides the cable to your phone and the driver to make it perform like a cellular modem. Snapdialer and Snapsync sound like Starfish knock-offs which come with the mobile office connectivity kits. Regards...

OpenBTS and USRP2
Tue, May 24, 2011 12:39 AM
Hi , I have managed to get two mobile phones communicating between them using the set up (OpenBTS using the UHD driver and USRP2 device) . I have a problem here 1) The communication system losses sync after some time ,even after using a 10 MHz at 300 mV as a result the mobile phones are not in a position to communicate for a longer time .

And most importantly: If the list owner says top posting is a no-no, then top posting is a no-no. Point. He sets the rules. He could even require that we use a violett font and include pictures of rosa ponies in all our mails and we'd have to adhere to it.
