[Ontbirds] Presqu'ile Birding Report for Week Ending May 26, 2016.
Thu, May 26, 2016 10:55 PM
The highlights were a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH found in Jobes' woods on May 22, GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLERS on May 19 and 26, and a BLUE-WINGED WARBLER on May 22. Other rare warblers can still show up, as was the case five years ago, when a HOODED WARBLER and a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER appeared on May 28 and June 2, respectively.

Thanks to all in advance. The boat is a 26' Permacraft trawler. I has a 33 hp Perkins 4.99, full displacement, full keel with fully protected prop and rudder. Draft is 2'10", beam is 9', displacement is 8000lbs. Electronic will be in a fully protected pilot house. Boat is fully paid for and I have no intentions of borrowing.

Thanks to All, cruising around NJ
Wed, Mar 19, 2008 1:54 PM
Thanks for all the responses, I may go the inside route since it is a viable choice if I plan the tides which I will be living by in the Hudson and St Lawrence anyway. The reason for this is that my wife will not go offshore but will cruise inside, so it is worth it to me to share with her this part of the journey!

Re: TWL: Re: all chain rode
Tue, Jul 29, 2003 3:41 AM
I've always (4 years) used an all-chain rode (5/16"HT) with my 72 lb SuperMax. I love the combination, and wouldn't use anything else. The second bower (love that nautical talk) is an aluminum Fortress 37 with 10' chain and nylon rode.

TWL: Re: All chain rode lengths
Fri, Jan 9, 2004 1:34 AM
>To those listers who use all-chain rodes: I'd be interested in knowing what length chain you have. We have 200' of chain on the Bruce anchor on the pulpit. We use a scope of between 5:1 and 7:1 when anchoring. Our stern/spare anchor (Fortress) has a combination rode with about 30 feet of chain and 250 feet of nylon. ______________________________ C.
