I managed to work 2 surveys into the block and was home eating a bagel with cream cheese and lox by 10:15 a.m. I totaled 23 species in the 2 surveys with no water, including Common Raven and Eastern Bluebird.

Here are the totals for this month (again, see details at HawkCount):  10/1 (98), 10/2 (240), 10/3 (113), 10/4 (321), 10/5 (206), 10/6 (825), 10/7 (580).   Historical peak days (around Columbus Day) have yet to come.  We are already seeing visiting hawkwatchers from New England sites to the north.  Come on down and join them.  We're here till December.

Re: About 10 MHz Optical Distro

Stringing several 100 meters of copper about my yard, carrying 10 MHz clock signals, no matter if the cables are well shielded, doesn't seem like a great idea. This is totally the thing that OVRO LWA dealt with.. Not only is fiber a LOT cheaper than coax, it solves a lot of problems.
