TWL: RE: Bilge Hose Check Valves

You will still have a back flush of water the distance of hose from the pump to the top of the vented loop, but I think it's a better solution than a check valve.

Re: TWL: hood fans in the galley?

It was maybe a 3" or 4" brass pipe as I recall, with a flat mushroom cap over the top outside to discourage water from coming back down it and maybe a knob of some kind at the bottom to close it off if you were so inclined. No fan, but it would have been easy enough to add one. It only stood an inch or so above the deck as I recall.

TWL: Active Stabilizers
Wed, Sep 5, 2001 2:55 AM
I was simply amazed at how stable the ship was and how easy the ride. Active stabilizers have jumped way up on my wife's list of desirable features. Cheers, Garrett

It would be fairly easy to fabricate a felt lined "U" shaped mount with the opening at the top to slide the Tablet into at the helm. Any thoughts???

The upper nut is then torqued down on top of the engine lug to lock the adjustment in place. So once these mounts are installed, adjusting the alignment to compensate for mount settling or whatever is actually pretty easy. ______________________________ C. When the boat was out of the water it was easy to adjust the pitch setting if necessary for better performance. | | Cheers | Al Binnington | GB 36 FALKOR | Guelph, Ontario | Canada

Not long ago I discovered that the fill on the top of one of my water tanks, located in the engine room, had a crack and leaked when the boat was pitching in a seaway; hadn't been noticeable when sitting still or when filling the tanks.
