Latitude/Longitude on Garmin Blue Charts
Tue, Jul 15, 2014 11:26 AM
Lat/Lon on the IPad "Garmin BlueChart Mobile" are depicted as N38.97833 W76.47789 (Annapolis). All other electronic charts depict this location 38°58.699N 76°28.672W. Is Garmin using some sort of decimal system I'm not familiar with? How does one translate this to a chart? BTW, Active Captain coordinates reflect Garmin's depictions.

Ethernet, for example, requires roughly similar frequencies but doesn't care at all about time. -- These are my opinions, not necessarily my employer's.

As of today, there's no mobile device which is IMS Compliant. And this for a very simple reason : I don't know any device mobile who support IPSec. And IPSec is a prerequisite to access an IMS Domain. And that's where the snake bites his own tail.

I may be less of a risk taker so I change the Mobil 1 at 5K. I have not taken the next step to use Mobil 1 or Delvac in my Lehman 135, but I am considering it. I do use multi-viscosity in the Lehman and Onan Generator due to our New England temperature extremes.

However, it qualifies as our weekend house and supplies all our vacations. Plus I enjoy doing all the work myself. If I paid to have the teak revarnished (for example), God only knows how much $ per month. When you die you can't take your money with you but maybe you can take your cruising memories so I say go for it.

It's a high-stakes game, and all too often the gamble doesn't pay off. There are more ways to die at sea than in a perfect storm.

Still, the engine will die if I throttle all the way down to 600 RPMs too quickly. I just called Caterpillar. The person I spoke to gave me a few more ideas on what to check. He also said that if I send the fuel injector pump assembly to them, it could run up to about $1,000.00 to fix!!... I hope it doesn't come to that...
