The control loop for the 10 MHz ( or whatever frequency) output is designed to clean up that variation so that the variation in the 10 MHz is much less both short and long term. I have probably over-simplified this but that's the basic situation.

Juvenile Bald Eagles sighted at 10:10 and 10:15; a 2nd year Bald Eagle at 1:25; mature Bald Eagles at 1:40 and 3:20. Ian Smith, Barry Chereier and Frank Horvath assisted with the count. Non-raptor Observations: Contrary to weather predictions, a nice though very windy day at Beamers produced lots of sun and 5 Bald Eagles.

I simply wanted to run 10 MHz all over the place from reference sources in disparate locations in the house, and I quickly discovered that cable leakage was embarrassingly severe. So I shut down and began contemplating a fiber link.

Hi You also may want to avoid an oscillator with much 10 MHz content in it. All sorts of odd things can happen with spurs when you have unplanned stuff on the main reference. Another thing to look closely at is - how much of the radio tracks the reference? On some radios, they don't really lock everything up.
