TWL: Firsts - Changing an Injector Pipe
Sat, May 12, 2001 2:13 AM
All that was necessary was to ensure it was seated and to tighten the nut on the pump. This is a bit awkward because all the nuts are too close together for a wrench to go between, so it's necessary to offset the wrench from the top. One must be careful not to slip off and strip the faces of the nut nor to over-tighten and strip the threads on the pump.

Re: T&T: Radar Question, Help Me

That was quite a trip, all with little or no visibility! Rest assured, if you think Radar would be a valuable investment in your boat, you will find it easy to learn to use! Hope this helped. Scott Bulger Knot@Work, 31' Camano Email: scottebulger@comcast.net

sunk boat repair

You should remove all starters as soon as possible and drop them in a bucket of fresh water. Next day, put them in a bucket of diesel, next day take them to a repair facility and trade them as cores for rebuilt units. Do the same with the alternators. The engines are the easy part.

Since 75 ohms is lower loss than 50 ohm (all else being constant) you can get away with quite a bit of the stuff. F connectors are easy to do wrong, so get some good ones and a proper crimp tool.  Most antennas are TNC or N, so you will need an adapter. Again - get a good one. What you really care about with antenna cablbe is the total loss.

ID of All White Bird ?
Sat, Jul 23, 2011 7:10 PM
I was at Long Wharf (New Haven) this morning and saw 7 all-white birds. About the size of a pigeon and off to the side of gulls on a sand bar. I thought they might be Ivory Gull or Glaucous Gull, but they don't seem to match exactly. All white, pink/orange beak (didn't notice any black), pink feet, orange eye ring.

back yard bird behavior (common birds) (long)
Wed, May 9, 2007 2:41 PM
My backyard birds are all common species, but they give me great pleasure nonetheless, especially as it's easy to observe the behaviors in a specific population over time. This spring, I've been particularly interested in watching how behaviors changed as the breeding season got underway.

Great Blue Heron Story
Thu, Sep 29, 2011 2:28 PM
Rich was able to hold it down easy enough and from behind I reached down into the water to where the leg was and put my gloved hand on the top of a snapping turtles shell. As soon as I touched the turtle it released the bird and began to move now wanting to get away itself. The released Heron walked to a brushy area about ten feet away.

It was at the top of a large maple tree this morning near Esther Anne Drive east of hwy 11. Enjoy the bird and take photos from a distance but please do not use mice to "bait" the bird any closer to busy hwy 11 where it could get hit by a passing vehicle.
