Duckling
Sat, Jul 1, 2017 10:17 AM
After waiting and watching for some time for signs of a mother duck, I plucked it from the river figuring a blind duckling could either die on the river or in a warm box in my care. This morning the duckling is alive and the eyes are open. Does anyone have any suggestions about what to do with this tiny bird? Pam Reeser

calling all owl lovers

During each listening period, the surveyor records all species of owls seen and heard. I have listed the available routes below, as well as the nearest town. If you are interested in surveying one of the routes, or would like more information, please contact Susan Debreceni by phone or email (toll free: 1-888-448-2473; sdebreceni@bsc-eoc.org).

Re: T&T: Fuel polishing

this is why it's not black or white... or one size fits all. suggesting the fuel return is enough to clean/polish the tanks of a slip queen with Lehmans is as "wrong" as suggesting a boat with DD that's used every week should have a fuel polishing system... it depends on the boat, engine and usage.

Re: T&T: ship stuck in ice
Wed, Apr 1, 2009 10:53 PM
There was a program on TV that I saw recently about a vessel that left the west end of Superior (not sure whether it was Duluth or Thunder Bay) too early and all the damage the commander did to his vessel because of the ice. It really knocked a hole in the company's first paycheck that season - because he left too early. Worth thinking about.

Bed the snap in the sealant of your choice, but as you are installing the snap, tighten only enough to get squeeze out all round. Give it a day or two, then tighten down- this will form more of a gasket like seal, rather than just a thin layer of sealant. Hope this helps..
