Note that my current workaround is to call > "del" on the top block after I'm done with it. If I then make a new > top block, the problem goes away (I can call start() on the new > object).

Re: [time-nuts] FE-5680A thermal management

The board is thick fiberglass plated heavily on both the top and bottom. The board in the picture has been cut both above and below the 5680A. The plating ended about where the lower cut is, but the plating continued farther above the top of the unit in the picture. My earlier message gave the dimensions. One minor note about this board.

Re: [time-nuts] Re-radiating a GPS signal...??

How do you place a GPS antenna on top of a building, pick up the signal with an LNA, amplify it to re-transmit on an inside antenna without the amplified re-transmitted signal getting back into the roof-top receiving antenna? I can see circumstances where a huge metal building (aircraft hangar?)

Re: [time-nuts] Example of clocks interlocking with each other

The normal approach is that you put your fingers on the swing as it gets near the top and measure when it starts back down and then add a gentle push. That doesn't change the frequency, at least not much. You could also push before it gets to the top. That would speed things up. (aka increase frequency) You could also pull as it gets near the top.

Re: [time-nuts] How did they distribute time in the old days?
Wed, Oct 14, 2015 11:42 AM
The clocks were connected to the WU telegraph line and for a minute before and after the top of the hour all traffic on the circuit would stop. Exactly at the top of the hour they would push a pulse of 50 ? volts or so over the line and it would reset the clock to the top of the hour.

YELLOW RAIL calling in Old Saybrook

Walk up the incline driveway to the top of the hill and listen to the marsh to the north. If there is no good parking options on the road (OBEY ALL SIGNAGE), then drive into the park, and the driveway will go up to the top. Please: 1) Do not tape the bird, as it will cause confusion amongst birders at the very least.
