Re: [OpenSCAD] What to call "variables"

While there are probably a number of use cases where external programs using OpenSCAD as backend make very much sense, it's still a bit sad to see all those projects started with huge enthusiasm die after half a year or so when it gets hard to continue supporting users. ciao, Torsten.

Simulation

Answer - switched die three years ago, Ft is now " much better " ( now 3x old parts ). Odd they never mentioned that to people who work for the same company. Simulate design, Build design, verify design, ship it for a few years. Odd things start to happen. Look at some parts. Package looks different. Ask around.....

All speculation, of course, but it seems at least facially plausible to me. Maybe it depends on what is enhanced, and by how much. Best regards, Charles

The next issue might be that they only have them in die form. The issue after that probably is that you really want the version 3 (or 9) chips that actually work with all the modulation schemes. I’ve been down the road with a number of similar chips that took *many* rev’s before they really did what they were intended to do.

Re: [time-nuts] Any other useful purpose for Austron 2100F or SRS FS700 receivers in US

All worked. Kind of a crazy thing to do but hated to see the systems die. I bet not all that good. They're in the same TO5, but I don't know if they're the same die. I have about 45-50 microvolt difference between their bases. >Anyway, the take-away is that you should look at that discrete >op-amp and see if it is not causing you the thermal dependence you are >trying to locate.

Re: [time-nuts] A look inside the DS3231

Hi all, Quick follow-up: I contacted Maxim to see if the chips were authentic, and their very pleasant customer support people verified that the markings and appearance of the chip are consistent with their records for that year and lot number. That's a good thing.
