It would not surprise me to find that space-qualified blob material is very different from consumer-grade blob material, and is actually *more* expensive than using consumer-grade packaged die would be (which would, of course, defeat the purpose of using it for consumer circuits).

The synthesizer has its own die, while the input regulators and (presumably) their bypass caps are mounted directly above the Vdd input pad. According to TI, the PSRR of the internal LDO that runs the analog section is better than 70 dB at offsets below 1 MHz.

We had some early CSAC units die that way and they were replaced without much hassle. They had not seen any sort of extended (as in weeks / months) high temperature exposure. They had been through standard testing which would take them over the entier temperature range. While the failure mode *could* have been the same, there is no way to be 100% sure.
