So, if I take my nice clean 10 MHz, rig up a counter that counts to 25,000, and a suitable PROM and DAC... (or run a DDS chip)... I think that would be a "clean and stable" 400 Hz. Of course, for the more mechanically inclined.. what about a big flywheel driving an alternator. You might be able to rejigger a car alternator.

There are about 10 of them listed at Mouser, all with rational prices. That’s a reasonable selection for starters. It’s still (unfortunately) a small selection compared to the full range of product.

New Haven, Lighthouse Point- hawk watch site and other parts of park - 63 species including Bufflehead, 9 species raptors including 4 Bald Eagles, 8 Hermit Thrush, 3 Am Pipit, 4 Snow Bunting, 2400 Red-winged Blackbirds, 3 Purple Finch. Many great birding friends. Greg Hanisek, official hawk counter, might provide a report on the day.
