Peregrines and siskins - Newington, 10/24/12
Wed, Oct 24, 2012 10:30 PM
10/24/12, Newington 2 large falcons overhead, one noticeably larger than the other, I am assuming a male and female peregrines, vocalizing and playing/arguing while headed north to south at about 6PM. ~25 pine siskins on feeders this morning. The 2 I saw yesterday must have invited some friends.

Stratford Point- good morning 9/10
Fri, Sep 10, 2021 6:12 PM
9/10 Stratford, Stratford Point - We had an enjoyable morning of birding, with nice diversity of migrants including 13 species of warblers (2 Cape May, Bay-breasted, Nashville, Tennessee, etc.), many flycatchers, and a Lincoln's Sparrow. Overall total of 48 species, and we didn't even walk the coastal bluff trail.

At the stroke of 10 it changed very suddenly to the east and over a couple of hours got very strong, up to #5, enough that when it gusted it was hard to hold bins and stand steady. Had a trickle of birds from 10 to about 1:30, and then only 1 Coop till 2:30, when I left.

The comparison may be between 1 pps outputs or between 10 MHz outputs. In both cases the data should be the same. Your choice of 1 pps or 10 MHz needs to match up between your measuring gear, your DUT, and your reference standard. Lots of choices, lots of ways to do it. Many pieces of gear you could use to get the job done.

Precision Time Protocol – Windows 10 implementation
Thu, Aug 8, 2019 11:26 AM
I'm using several Windows 10 machines on the same LAN, all using NTP client software from Meinberg. The typical offset and jitter in those are about 100-500 µs. I would like to make it lower. I've heard that one of the latest versions of Windows 10 provides support for PTP protocol (IEEE 1588v2). Hence my questions: 1.
