Also, the advantages of running all instruments from the same 10 MHz source are well known.

Re: [CT Birds] House finch
Wed, Dec 10, 2014 6:23 PM
The highest number of individuals (10 at one time) appeared in November of 2008; although most often we get 2 at a time. The highest number of occurrences (18 weeks of visits) was in the winter of 2006-2007. Most visits by house finches are clustered in the December/January stretch - but they are consistent into the spring. Love that new data mapping!

Re: [time-nuts] Advice on 10 MHz isolation/distribution amplifier
Thu, Feb 11, 2010 3:09 PM
I only have a really good 10 MHz OCXO crystal oscillator to distribute, so about -120 dBc at 10 Hz, -140 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz, - 150 dBc/Hz at 1KHz, and -155 dBc/Hz noise floor. No maser or cesium clock, living in the world of practical realities here.

Detroit River Hawk Watch (10 Nov 2025) 304 Raptors

A pair of bufflehead ducks flew in for a visit. We can occasionally see huge flights of scaup taking to the air out on the lake. We saw a couple of flights of sandhill cranes today. One was only a pair of birds but the other was the best part of fifteen. A common loon was seen in flight, probably headed up the river to float down again.

Frequency doubler 5/10 and distribution amplifier for Lucent KS-24361
Sat, Jan 3, 2015 1:43 AM
Hi, all, over the Christmas season, I have designed and built a frequency doubler from 5 to 10 MHz and a distribution amplifier for the Lucent KS-24361. A preliminary writeup is under < http://www.hoffmann-hochfrequenz.de/downloads/DoubDist.pdf > It features 4 or 5 10 MHz 10 dBm outputs and an optional 1PPS on SMA with CMOS levels into 50 Ohm.
