Re: [time-nuts] Temperature sensors and quartz crystals (was: HP5061B Versus HP5071 Cesium Line Frequencies)

But unlike a discrete sensor, you have the problem that they only contain a low resolution ADC on die (somewhere between 8 and 14 bit). If your goal is to measure temperature and report it with an accuracy of about 1°C, then these are the easiest to use sensors you can buy.

Re: [time-nuts] MEMS oscillators

The gotcha is that an IC is die coated and a MEMS oscillator likely is not. They should get packaged accordingly (= a low leakage package). Getting anything into a package at normal atmospheric pressure … not so much.

My bet still would be on a tool or die that was a bit past it’s “back to the shop for a touch up” point though. Bob > On Feb 14, 2019, at 11:18 PM, Bruce Griffiths wrote: > > NPT or BSPT pipe thread perhaps?

Some questions to zeners (1N823-1N829)
Sat, Jan 26, 2013 3:30 PM
I blame the temperature hysteresis on the die attach to the lead frame which seems to be usually a silver filled epoxy compound. I hope that the hysteresis on a discrete zener is much lower. With best regards Andreas
