Marine Wire Myth
Mon, Apr 7, 2008 9:10 PM
Unless you use a hydraulic press box crimping die set, there will be voids. I have the hand opeated dimple die crimper tool and have cut a section of a "good" crimp to see. Examination under a microscope reveals voids. For this reason I prefer the closed end bell style and use of an anti-oxidant paste.

Everything has to be on one die (as in die in a chip) as propagation delay in cabling alone will add enough errors. (I'm sorry tvb.... for creating more job for you to do) --------------------------------------- (Mr.)

Re: [volt-nuts] physical explanation of the tilt effect?

The LTZ1000A is assembled with a thermally insulating die attach (ie epoxy to glue the die to the leadframe). What all of us is missing is the correct physical explanation, including my assumption, which is derived from the long time constant of the change only.
