Re: GL: Stabilizers on a Krogen (or similar) 42
Sun, Jan 24, 2010 2:37 AM
Therefore, the bosses that will have to be installed on all hulls will involve more labor and materials to remove the core in way of the bosses and replace the core with fiberglass and plywood. The Krogen 42 has a "basement" with easy access for the installation of stabilizers. $40,000 to $50,000 is as good a guess as any.

Reformatting the comm-central C++ code base to Google coding style
Tue, Apr 23, 2019 8:25 AM
I intend to do the same for the comm-central code base and now is a good time to start to get it all done before the end of the 68 cycle so that future updates to comm-esr68 will be easy.

Your input will affect all future P47s. I, too, would like to see her develop. The twin ford lehmans are bullet proof, and are reasonably easy to work on if necessary. By the way, all of these trips are based on a whole lot of proper planning. There is adequate diesel available in central america for the trip.

All feed out great. Takes a little work to repack. Easy to stow in lazarette when not in use. Does not need to spin out like reel. West Marine sells a bag system for anchor lines. I had mine made at a sail loft for the same price for larger, heavier and stronger bags.

Re: [time-nuts] RF Mixers for oscillator comparison

Its relatively easy to measure mixer phase noise: All one needs is a low noise preamp plus a sound card a 90 degree hybrid (or a suitable length of coax and a splitter) and a low noise source.

Re: [time-nuts] Cheap jitter measurements

The comment at the top of the code says "latency". When I hear "granularity", I think of the tick size of the clock. It's easy to measure a big tick size, read the clock, spin reading until it changes, subtract. Things get interesting if the tick size is less than the time it takes to read the clock.

warmth, sun, gnats = another CaVe SwAlLoW at Cranberry in Whitby--Nov.26; BUT a Sharp-shinned took it later
Wed, Nov 26, 2003 7:22 PM
Over the 0830 to 1230 time period on Nov.26 the 5 Cranberry Marsh Raptor Watch observers had only 2 Red-tailed Hawks migrating. Now, read my last sentence, then come back.
