We used all 40 mil glass all around & I'm very pleased. It lays very flat & is as easy to see through as you could expect. They reccomend the Stratagalss for any panels that are going to be rolled up a lot as the zippers are less likely to scratch, but at $150 a sheet extra, we just couldn't go there.

A boat that cost well north of a mil and he was stuck with a system which neither worked well nor was compatible with him; he sold the boat the next year. Luckily, I did that cruise while still in the research stage of anti-roll devices for my boat. Bob Phillips, Another Asylum, Tortola, BVI

I buy 25 foot rolls of 6 mil plastic at Home Depot to use with epoxy - it's tough enough to use for vacuum bagging. You can use it for any project where you need to keep the epoxy contained (such as the gouge) or to prevent a layer from bonding with the epoxy (as in vacuum bagging). Keep the roll on the boat and cut off what you need for your project.

It's a mil spec, nitrogen-fill optic rated at 7 x 28 with a 7 degree field width, used in the military by special ops forces. At opera glass size, it's small, light, and easy to handle. It's made to be worn with or without glasses. I wear glasses, so I find that extremely helpful.

Re: T&T: So a Coast Guard documented vessel renewal now cost $75.

The official USCG website is here: https://www.dco.uscg.mil If the domain ends in anything other than ".mil", you're at the wrong place.  For example, this one: https://vesselrenewal.us/ - It's fraudulent. They will, in fact complete your renewal for a fee, but there's absolutely no advantage to paying for their service.

Since you need carrier and timing frequency recovery, you should look at the MIL-STD-188-110a Receiver demo in the Comms Blockset. Just type 'commmilstd188110a' at the MATLAB command prompt to bring it up.
