Well I can't argue with you, but all I can do is reflect on my years charter boat fishing in FL. I never got to run the boats, so again, I'll defer to your experience. I vividly remember the skippers using nothing but gears to maneuver their boats in and out of their slips. Never touched the wheel, no bow thruster, 60'+ boats.

Fortunately, few people who are infected die, or even get sick. Ask, why did your bird die? Not to be picky bit no cheapo 1C or 0.5C sensors; 0.1C or better is ok. > > I know it's "easy" to throw one together with an Arduino, but I'm looking for something pre-packaged, something that reliably works, out-of-the-box.

Re: T&T: Floscan Fuel Meters
Thu, Nov 3, 2005 6:48 PM
All I care about is gallons per hour, not miles per gallon. It is easy enough to do the math. I like the fuel counter and I like the engine hour meter. Cat counts engine hours differently (based on engine revolutions) so it is nice to have the actual hours run (a more conservative number). Floscan comes with good directions.

Driving into the FPGA with a differential signal is probably needed to reduce crosstalk. > > No matter how you do it, input channels are *not* an easy thing to do properly. Even on commercial counters, they often are easy to fool. Designing one is only the start. Fully testing it is equally complex. > > ========= > > Do not underrate your skills in any way.

Re: T&T: battery damage

If planning to go where batteries are more expensive or difficult to get, it might be a good thing to test them first, or maybe just replace them, if reliability is a concern; but then, it's easy for me to spend your money. Fun, but easy!
