Fri, Jan 28, 2011 1:48 PM
Good ideas never die. I personally do my electric boating in a Grumman canoe with a Minnkota trolling motor. As you say, it is dead quiet. Larry Z

Re: [USRP-users] Ettus B2x0 enclosure group buy/machining interest?

I'm looking at a die-cast box designed for outdoor use, this box comes with N-Type plugs already mounted, typically these boxes are used for outdoor Wi-Fi. I'm looking at a 3m - 4m dish in the back garden with the B200 mounted as close to the feed as possible. I may well put a mini-ITX i5 out in the garden as well, just not sure yet.

Re: [time-nuts] While we're discussing backups...

And if your OS is already starting to die when you made your last backup, it doesn't help very much. I've got a USB bookshelf drive, together with an old workstation with big drives for a duplicate backup. For most apps, I don't try to clone a drive, but backup the install for the apps, together with any keys.

So they start putting the new die into the old package as well as making the new part. Fewer dice to make likely means cheaper and less hassels. And they don't tell anyone. Win-win, except the new part has a much higher Ft for example and formerly stable circuits now oscillate badly. Tilt!
