[Ontbirds] Holiday Beach Conservation Area (26 Oct 2015) 1284 Raptors

The scope provided good looks at all five immature birds, as well as an adult. Our other big moment was when an adult Northern Goshawk steadily powered low over the trees on the north shore of the marsh, thankfully staying in view long enough to get a good look and ID. All in all, a day of success!

I use Greg Frosts' gear library all the time, the code module you want to execute needs to be run - there are working examples in the code, which take the module defaults... bevel_gear ();  //runs the code... but it runs with the parameters set in the bevel_gear module - this is a working example of the modified parameter set I use..

Dinghy

It needs to be easy to get into from the swim platform and light enough to raise with my current lift system that raises the boat to the top of the boat and sits on the aft deck roof. Current dinghy and 25 horse power engine weighs about 450 pounds. Suggestions appreciated.

Been there with the cheapies, even a top genset like an Onan is no match for a Northern Lights -low rpm, quiet, constructed of premium materials, easy to maintain, rugged, and a simple and well thought out design. Like a Ford Lehman - they live forever if you remember to change the oil and filters! Like a Lehman - Northern Lights are bulletproof!!

They just built a brand new one to the original specs, and put it into a new WWII museum in the Big Easy. 1900 of these things hit the beaches on D-Day. Shallow draft, 12 knts tops. Boy, 29 old Grunts in a open boat for 4300 miles....yeah, it'll be war. Good luck to'em. Norm

The inline filter had a screw top and was easy to clean. Looked like a good setup. Cheers John Ring in the New Year with Photo Calendars. Add photos, events, holidays, whatever.
