I was just on a new Biniteau 473. There were no shower sumps. The shower drain was connected to a hose that rose above the waterline, had a small inline filter and a pump then a thru hull. When the water on the shower floor rose to your ankles you pushed and button which activted the pump. It took a few seconds for the water to be gone and releasing the button turned the pump off.

Apart from eliminating the sump you could also judge how much water you were using. The inline filter had a screw top and was easy to clean. Looked like a good setup.

Cheers
John
