Re: [time-nuts] OT: Eagle PC CAD now Autodesk, $500/year

I’m not yet 100% convinced Autodesk won’t reverse course on this, unless they really *do* want EAGLE to die the death of a thousand cuts.

It would not surprise me to find that space-qualified blob material is very different from consumer-grade blob material, and is actually *more* expensive than using consumer-grade packaged die would be (which would, of course, defeat the purpose of using it for consumer circuits).

Re: [time-nuts] ULN regulator with more current capability than LT3042?

The synthesizer has its own die, while the input regulators and (presumably) their bypass caps are mounted directly above the Vdd input pad. According to TI, the PSRR of the internal LDO that runs the analog section is better than 70 dB at offsets below 1 MHz.

I’d bet more of them die from lightning hits than from humidity. Bob > On Dec 1, 2020, at 2:03 PM, Hal Murray wrote: > > > kb8tq@n1k.org said: >> Yes, there’s more to it if you want to get connections in and out. Forget >> about “hermetic” connectors, they aren’t up to the task.

Re: [time-nuts] CSAC State of Play
Tue, Jan 12, 2021 2:22 PM
We had some early CSAC units die that way and they were replaced without much hassle. They had not seen any sort of extended (as in weeks / months) high temperature exposure. They had been through standard testing which would take them over the entier temperature range. While the failure mode *could* have been the same, there is no way to be 100% sure.

any unheated Vref better than LT1021-7 (at 7 ppm/khr typ.) ?

I gather the board does have to be scrupulously clean before the coating. 3) If the humidity effect is strictly from mechanical stress on the die as the plastic encapsulant swells or shrinks, would a part in a metal can then be immune from this effect, even if it was non-hermetic?

AAfCW bird walk at Long Beach Stratford tomorrow...
Thu, Apr 18, 2013 2:26 PM
Let's take things to another level in our state to save birds that will die or be expatriated without our help. Please email me if you have any questions. In the low chance we get rained out I will post it. Thanks, Scott ======== Scott Kruitbosch Conservation Technician Connecticut Audubon Society 2325 Burr St.

Bears and Birding
Tue, May 28, 2013 11:38 PM
According to the American Bear Organization - A person is 180 times more likely to be killed by a bee and 160,000 times more likely to die in a car accident than be attached by a bear. Their advice is to be aware of your surroundings (which you will be when birding).

But of course some (more than most people want to imagine) will die because that's what happens in winter. They're prolific birds that have no trouble covering their losses. Greg HanisekWaterbury
