Metal Fuel Tank Problems
Sat, May 30, 1998 12:38 AM
On the other hand, if you're doing coastal cruising at an easy rate, 800 gallons is a lot of fuel to sit in tanks. We're under the gun as we are going to have to respond to the owner in the next couple of days regarding the survey. Bill & Holley Purcell ex Hawk's Next '86 Albin 40 Does anyone have any advise?

By all means use a belt guard, but do not fit it so close to the pulley, you block the air flow from the pulley mounted fan blades. Arild

Re: [volt-nuts] VS 330 circuit board oddity

Very easy to calibrate and very easy to repair/change for more modern components. What you have bought is a fairly simple but good small-scale "lab-bench"-production instrument with a lot of expensive precision resistors. The handwritten label is for the precision diode. Normally it runs at 7.5 mA, but yours seems to be fed 8.5.

TWL: Keel Cooling
Fri, Apr 27, 2001 3:53 PM
From the top of the box above the waterline he inserts a copper coil sized to fit the box fairly snugly. Fresh cooling water is circulated through the coil, and in the even of breakage, seawater can be used for emergency cooling. This system undoubtedly requires more routine checking and cleaning, but it is *really* cheap and easy. Michael Rowe

TWL: Macerator Pump Location
Thu, Sep 13, 2001 1:35 PM
Eric, Like Charles Culotta, I recently installed a new SeaLand holding tank pump right on top of the holding tank (see attached pictures sent by email) If it should quit for any reason and I have a full tank, it makes for easy repair. I got tired of the macerator pump failing and wanted to be able to pump the holding tank dry.

TWL: Viewing TWL ascending or descending option?
Thu, Jan 23, 2003 3:58 PM
Easy enought to respond directly to an individual, but then the List misses out on the response. Do I have to copy the Re: heading and then paste it into a new email to TWL or am I missing something? Hal Oakes Traveler Albin 43 Tenants Harbor, Maine
